I am delighted to offer you a warm welcome to LGS JT. At JT, we view diversity as our biggest strength. We aim to inspire in our students the curiosity to learn, the self-confidence to lead and the compassion to serve. Our primary source of insight and energy is our students’ validation, critique and innovative ideas. We mutually guide and encourage one another to understand the importance of not just academic achievement but also values of tolerance and respect. I hope our website gives you a sense of our purpose and vision.

Principal’s Message

Welcome to our community

Dear Parents, Welcome to LGS JTI Junior Girls. Whether your family is joining us for the first time or continuing your journey with us, we are delighted to welcome you to our learning community. A child's primary years are among the most significant in shaping not only academic success but also character, confidence, resilience and a lifelong love of learning. During these formative years, children develop the habits, attitudes and values that will influence the way they think, learn, build relationships and contribute to the world around them. At LGS JTI Junior Girls, we believe education extends far beyond textbooks and examinations. Our responsibility is to nurture curious thinkers, compassionate citizens and principled individuals who possess the confidence to embrace challenges and the wisdom to make thoughtful decisions. Built upon the proud legacy of Lahore Grammar School, our programme thoughtfully integrates the academic rigour of the Cambridge Primary Curriculum with the inquiry-driven philosophy of the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). Together, these approaches provide children with both strong academic foundations and the skills needed to thrive in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world. Our classrooms encourage children to ask questions, investigate ideas, collaborate with others, reflect on their learning and develop the confidence to take ownership of their growth. Equally important, we strive to foster kindness, empathy, integrity and respect—qualities that define successful learners and responsible global citizens. We recognise that the strongest schools are built on meaningful partnerships between home and school. Parents are a child's first teachers, and your involvement plays an invaluable role in every stage of your child's educational journey. This handbook has been thoughtfully designed to answer your questions, explain our approach and provide practical guidance on how we can work together to ensure your child's success. Thank you for placing your trust in us. We look forward to partnering with you as we inspire every child to discover her potential, develop her character and build a future filled with purpose, confidence and compassion.
Warm regards,

Ms. Bushra Irfan

Student Agency in Practice [Examples of voice, choice and ownership]----------------------------------

Mission Statement

To provide a nurturing, inclusive and future-focused learning environment that empowers every student to inquire deeply, build knowledge, think critically, embrace diverse perspectives and take meaningful action.Through a culture of curiosity, creativity, resilience and respect, we nurture confident, compassionate and principled lifelong learners who develop a growing sense of international-mindedness and contribute positively to their communities and an interconnected world. By developing the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally and ethically—we prepare our students to take increasing ownership of their learning and to shape the future with confidence, purpose and integrity. The refinement of the school’s mission was undertaken as a collaborative and reflective process alongside the school’s developing understanding of the PYP and its own evolving educational priorities.

Philosophy

LGS JTI Junior Girls believes that meaningful learning is active, inquiry-driven, conceptually connected and centred on the learner. We aim to develop confident, compassionate, principled and independent learners who think critically, ask questions, reflect, collaborate and take increasing ownership of their learning. We value the development of the whole child—academically, socially, emotionally and ethically—and recognise that learning should extend beyond knowledge acquisition to the development of skills, dispositions, agency and meaningful action. Rooted in our local cultural context while open to diverse perspectives, we seek to nurture internationally minded learners who are equipped to contribute responsibly to their communities and an interconnected world.

We view this philosophy as a living commitment. Through ongoing reflection, collaborative planning, professional learning, student and parent voice and the regular review of curriculum, assessment, policies and practices, we continually evaluate how effectively it is reflected in the lived experience of our learners. Our ongoing development focuses on strengthening student agency, international-mindedness, inclusion, meaningful action and the consistency and quality of inquiry and conceptual learning across the school.

The Best of IB and Cambridge

Our programme combines the strengths of two internationally respected frameworks; the academic rigour of Cambridge combined with the inquiry and conceptual learning of the IB Primary Years Programme.
